ABOUT FITNESS OF DAVID VILLA..................
Barcelona striker David Villa is hoping to recover in time to face Real Madrid, according toMarca.
The 30-year old suffered a broken leg in the Club World Cup held last Decemeber, immediately raising concerns he might not be fit in time to play for Spain in the European Championships this summer.
However, the Spaniard confirmed he was on quick road to recovery last week and sounded optimistic of being on the flight to Poland and Ukraine in June.
"I went to the clinic last Friday to have two screws withdrawn from my leg. Everything went perfectly and I went home without any noteworthy problems. This is another important step in my recovery," Villa said. "When I got injured, I said that it was my goal to make Euro 2012 and help Barcelona at the end of the season. And I am getting more optimistic about it every day as it's going very well."
If all goes well, he could be running again by the end of this month. He will hope to be in the Real Madrid squad that will be facing Barcelona at the Nou Camp on April 22nd.
